Collection: C5 Surfskates

Surfskates with C5 trucks use the most compact system in the range, aimed at street and park. Its pivot has less range and provides more stability during fast weight shifts.

The C5 setup suits riding in the city and bowl, as well as starting out on a short format.

C5 surfskates: the short, lively format

The C5 is the most compact of Carver's surfskate trucks. Narrower and lighter than the CX, it gives a direct, skate-like ride: you carve like on a surfskate while keeping the manoeuvrability and weight of a street setup. It is the system used on the shortest formats in the range.

Its terrain is the park, transitions, narrow streets and anything that requires quick changes of direction. The turns are tighter than with a C7 and acceleration is sharper.

Who is it for?

The C5 is mainly aimed at riders coming from skateboarding who want to add carving to their riding without losing their familiar reference points. If you are instead looking for range and a surf feel, see the C7 surfskates ; si tu veux un compromis, les CX surfskates.

The matching format

The C5 is often fitted to short boards around 28 inches, with a reduced wheelbase. It is lively and playful, but less reassuring at higher speeds than a long format, so keep that in mind if you mainly ride longer distances. The buying guide lists the measurements to check.

C5 surfskates FAQ

Is the C5 suitable for children and smaller riders?

Often, yes: it is fitted to short, light boards that are easier for smaller riders to manoeuvre. See the Mini & Kids, which brings together the most compact formats in the catalogue.

How do C5 and CX differ in adjustment?

Both are adjusted in the same way, through kingpin tightness and bushing choice. Since the C5 is narrower, it reacts more quickly to the same adjustment: loosen it by small quarter turns and test between each one.
