C7 surfskates: the truck that most closely reproduces the feeling of surfing
The C7 is the most surf-like truck system in the Carver range. Its front truck uses an articulated arm mounted on an axle and returned to centre by a spring. It provides a wide turning range and pumping that generates speed without putting a foot on the ground.
The movement recalls surfing: pressure on the rail, a wide board rotation and then renewed speed. The C7 suits surfers who want to train when the sea is flat and riders looking for long curves rather than tricks.
Is the C7 right for you?
The C7 is suited to carving, pumping and working on weight transfer. It takes some adjustment at first because it turns much more than a classic skate setup. Start on flat, open ground to gradually feel how it returns to centre.
For a board aimed at the park, transitions and a ride closer to skateboarding, look at CX surfskates or the C5 surfskates.
C7 maintenance requirements
The C7 has more parts than the other systems: a spring, a ball bearing and a pivot pin. These are wear parts, all available in spare partsOccasionally checking the kingpin tightness is enough to maintain a clear return to center.
Which length should you choose?
Length and wheelbase determine the ride: a longer deck is more stable and makes wider turns; a shorter deck is quicker and more playful. The detailed measurements are listed on each product page, and our guide to choosing your surfskate helps you decide.
C7 surfskates FAQ
Is the C7 suitable for beginners?
Yes, provided you start on flat ground away from traffic. The C7 turns sharply, so the first few minutes can feel unfamiliar if you come from a standard skateboard. The movement usually becomes natural after two or three rides. You can also tighten the kingpin nut slightly at first to reduce the range, then loosen it once you feel comfortable.
Can a C7 deck be converted to CX later?
Yes. Carver decks are designed to accept the different truck systems: you can keep your board and change only the trucks. See the complete truck sets if you want to upgrade your setup without buying another board.
Does the C7 work in a skatepark?
It works there, but the skatepark is not its main terrain. Its range of movement, which is its strength for carving, becomes cumbersome in tight transitions and on obstacles. For park riding, the CX or C5 is better suited.
