Hardware and risers: the small parts that hold the setup together
The hardware takes the load from every push, landing and kerb. Worn or incorrectly tightened hardware creates play in the board and changes foot placement.
What is a riser for?
A riser is a spacer placed between the truck and the deck. It raises the board and limits contact between the wheel and deck in tight turns, a common issue in surfskate with highly turning trucks. The larger the wheels, the more useful a riser can be.
Choosing the right screw length
The length depends on the total thickness to pass through: deck, any riser and the truck baseplate. Screws that are too short do not engage enough thread; screws that are too long protrude below the truck. Each product page gives the length in inches and millimetres.
The remaining wear parts are in spare parts.
