Roundhouse: wheels developed by Carver

Roundhouse is Carver’s wheel brand. The wheels are made for surfskate, where the board leans heavily and loads the rail in turns: the lip shape and core placement are designed to maintain grip at angles where a standard skate wheel loses traction.

How to choose from the range

Two criteria are listed on every product page. The diameter comes first: larger diameters keep speed and smooth out asphalt, while smaller ones feel quicker and sit lower. Next, hardness comes next: around 78A, you prioritize comfort and grip; above 80A, you gain more slide and break traction more easily at the end of a turn.

The wheel guide explains in detail what each value changes under your feet.

And the rest of the setup

If you fit a large diameter, check that the wheel does not touch the deck in tight turns: a riser solves the problem, see Hardware and risersAlso consider the bearings if yours have been exposed to water.
