About Carver
Surfing, even when the ocean is flat.
It all starts in Venice Beach, California, in 1996.
That day, the ocean is completely calm. Surfers Neil Carver and Greg Falk take their skateboards with a simple idea: to recreate on asphalt the sensations they seek in the water.
Traditional skateboards do not allow riders to truly carve, pump and generate speed like they do on a wave.
So they decide to create something that does not yet exist.
The invention of surfskate
In a Venice garage, Neil and Greg begin modifying, welding and testing new trucks systems.
Prototype by prototype, they develop a mechanism that reproduces the fluid movement and weight shifts of a surfboard.
These experiments give rise to the Carver C7, the truck that lays the foundations for a new way to skate: surfskate.
Since then, one thing has never changed at Carver: the ride comes first.
Three trucks. Three feels. One shared obsession.
Since the first C7, Carver has continued refining its trucks systems to deliver different riding feels.
C7
Carver’s original system. Fluid, wide-ranging and adjustable, it feels particularly close to surfing and generates speed through pumping.
CX
Lighter and more responsive, its reverse kingpin design combines carving, pumping and stability. A versatile system suited to surf training and simply enjoying the ride.
C5
Lower and more compact, it brings surfskate even closer to traditional skateboarding and enables more technical riding.
Whatever the system, the goal remains the same: a direct connection between the rider, the board and the terrain.
From a Venice garage to the world
What began with two surfers seeking their sensations on asphalt has become a global movement.
Today, Carver is present in more than 40 countries, bringing together surfers, skaters and riders from all backgrounds.
Riders such as Kai Lenny, Jamie O'Brien and Yago Dorasurf brands such as Channel Islands and ...Lostas well as communities such as GRLSWIRL are part of this story.
From California’s beaches to European cities, the same idea continues to bring us together:
find a line, carve and keep surfing, even far from the ocean.
The Original Surfskate. Since 1996.
For nearly 30 years, Carver has developed its boards and trucks with the same focus: products built around the rider’s feel.
Carver did not come from a trend.
Carver came from surfing.
