Collection: CX Surfskates
Surfskates with CX trucks use a reverse axle. The response is faster and more direct than with a C7, with a slightly more limited range.
The CX is the most versatile setup in the range, suited to cruising, bowl and street. It is also the most widely represented system in the catalogue.

CX surfskates: Carver's versatile system
The CX turns less deeply than the C7, but it uses a single axle: fewer parts, less maintenance and more predictable handling from the first few metres. It is the best-selling setup in the range and the one we recommend when you are not yet sure which direction to take.
With a CX, you can carve on flat ground, ride through the city, go downhill and ride a bowl in the same session. It will not be perfect for any of the three in an absolute sense, but all three will be enjoyable.
CX or C7?
If your priority is to recreate the feeling of surfing and work on your weight shifts, choose the C7 surfskates. If you want a board that does everything well enough without further adjustment, stick with the CX. The truck guide explains the differences.
An easy-to-adjust setup
The CX is adjusted through kingpin tightness and bushing choice: softer bushings increase the range, while firmer ones add stability. Two sets of bushings cost far less than a new board and radically change the feel. See the spare parts to adjust your setup.
Which size for which use?
Long models are more stable and comfortable over distance; short models are more manoeuvrable and accelerate quickly. Each product page lists the length, width and wheelbase, and our buying guide helps you choose according to your build and intended use.
CX surfskates FAQ
Is the CX a good first surfskate?
It is the easiest entry point. It turns enough for you to immediately feel what distinguishes a surfskate from a standard skateboard, without the C7's unfamiliar range of movement. If you enjoy it, you can later change your trucks to C7 while keeping the same deck.
Does the CX require much maintenance?
No. Unlike the C7, it has neither a spring nor a ball stop. Check the kingpin tightness, the condition of the bushings and the pivot cup once or twice per season depending on use, and that is all.
Can you pump with a CX?
Yes, and it is one of its strengths. The range is shorter than with a C7, so generating speed requires a slightly stronger movement, but you can keep moving without pushing.
