The Black Tip uses an updated construction for the brand's thirtieth anniversary. Carver replaces the lower composite ply with carbon fibre, making the board stiffer, lighter and more responsive during pumping.

The new HPR17 mold combines a mild centre concave, a pronounced recess under the front foot and a lower tail angle to keep rear-foot pressure engaged through the turn. The carbon weave remains visible beneath the deck. Available with CX trucks for a more direct rail engagement or C7 trucks for a longer line, with 70 mm Roundhouse Mag wheels in 78a.
